Nobody can forget the beaming introduction sequence and
welcome-song presented by Gutthi. The way Sunil Grover has portrayed the role
of Gutthi, he became the apple of eye for his audiences. But the absence of
Gutthi has been disappointing the viewers despite the visible extra efforts of
Kapil for continuing the show at the same level without Gutthi.
No doubt, Kapil is a phenomenally successful comedian and he
has made the viewers laugh their heads off by his skills, but all the family
members of Comedy Nights have also stood shoulder to shoulder with him, to make
it a grand success. Dadi, Bua, Mrs. Sharma, Palak, servant and off course
Gutthi, they all have performed dramatically well in the show.
What Made Gutthi Quit from Comedy Nights with Kapil
According to Early Rumors:
The inclining fame and fans of Sunil for his various
characters, especially as Gutthi, made him ask for increased remuneration. When
the producers of Comedy night didn’t find it adequate, Sunil made his decision
of quitting the show. His salary-revising matter and mounting popularity made
his relations sour and the result was his exit from Comedy Nights.

The rumors took a turn and suggested that Sunil has quitted
the show because he is going to take his own comedy show in light on a rival
channel. He is also going to anchor a show, so bid a farewell to Comedy Nights
with Kapil.

The conspiracy of silence broke when Kapil tweeted, “I love sunil n guthi.dey r
always welcome in d show.I can js request him.cnt force him..Bt wtever.. I love
him.. Pls dnt spread rumours (sic).”
We all also love both
Sunil’s humor and Gutthi’s ever-enjoying persona.
However, Sunil is no
more a part of the show, and we are going to miss our Gutthi until someone else
doesn’t come to play this character.

Sunil stated, “I am working on something of my own.
Something away from Comedy Nights with Kapil. Right now, it's too early to say
what it is. But those who enjoyed me as Guthi on Kapil's show won't be disappointed
by my new avatar".
It shows that he will be back soon with his all new avatar
and to make us laugh like a drain.

Kapil stated that he
neither feels insecurity from increasing popularity of Sunil as Gutthi, nor
feels cheated. He said that Gutthi was a part of his own project on which he
also gave his inputs with Sunil, and as he also left Comedy Circus for
commencing his show, Sunil may also think the same way.
On the other side,
Sunil cleared that the hike he asked for was reasonable and channel has agreed
for that, so money is not the matter. Though he didn’t said anything about starting
his own show or commented on the real reason behind leaving the show, saying "I don't want to say anything more as the show has made me what I am today".

The producers of
Comedy Nights have announced that the character of Gutthi can’t be copied as it
is an intellectual property of Comedy Nights. Viacom 18 said that Gutthi cannot
be copied even by Sunil.
Somewhere, it is a warning
to Sunil Grover that if he gets on stream with his own show, he cannot come
with his old character of Gutthi; if he comes, legal action would be taken
against him.
According to Sunil, the prior commitments have not fulfilled
that’s the reason for quitting the show. Kapil’s Comedy show is getting huge
popularity and Sunil is also the main part of this success and fame. It would
be hard to imagine “Comedy Nights with Kapil” without Gutthi.

But it’s not
the first time a character played by Sunil Grover has become so popular.
A few years back he got many awards for his show on Radio Mirchi titled
Hassey Ke Phuarey. On the show, he played the character of a deadpan
'Sudarshan' aka SUD and used to narrate silly jokes in an interesting
tone.
Gutthi aka Sunil Grover is not a new name. He has been tickling our bellies since quite sometime now. .He hosted a show called Kya Aap Paanchvi Fail Champu Hain? on Sahara Filmy, which is a parody of Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?.He used to copy Shahrukh Khan in an immaculate style.He hosted a show called Kaun Banega Champu onSahara Filmy, which is a parody of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He starred in the Bollywood movie "Zila Ghaziabad" too.
Sunil has
completed his Masters in theatre from Chandigarh and agrees that the
experience has been handy in making a mark on the small screen.
“Studying theatre does give you an edge. It’s all about applying that
knowledge in your characters,” says Sunil. He is a towering 5'11" tall.
While the actor
is now a known name, he reveals that no one from his family is
connected to the industry. He hails from a small village that most
people he’s encountered are not even aware of. He says, “I come from
Manditapwali, a small village. My grandfather was a teacher while father
was into bank service. I moved to Mumbai some years back and started
working on TV shows.”
